Key Background :
Symbiosis International (Deemed University) has been leading global education all along, having as its guiding philosophy one of inclusiveness and multiculturalism in everything that it does. This is reflected in its motto, "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" or "the world is one family." This is an expression of the vision of the university to provide opportunities for education without boundaries. The university's latest step – the Global BBA Programme with Deakin University – is very much in line with this vision.
Deakin University, which is an elite Australian university with strong research and innovation focus, had previously been involved in collaborative academic activities with Indian institutions. The Symbiosis agreement also follows suit of higher educational connections between Australia and India and makes available to Indian students higher-study international standards. The agreement is not only meant to bestow degrees but also immerse one into practical environments through multi-country learning environments.
The Global BBA Programme design is consciously global. The students start their studies in India at SCMS Pune or SCMS Noida with fundamental business management skills. The second year at Dubai gives that international flavor with the exposure of a global business and cultural environment for the student. The last two years in Australia will concentrate on higher-level business analytics in preparing the students for the data-intensive global economy.
The graduates will be awarded a BBA (Hons or Hons with Research) by Symbiosis and a Business Analytics degree by Deakin University, granting double qualifications to ensure increased global employability alongside specialization. The double-degree framework enables learners to bank on diverse academic strengths and derive advantage from integrated pedagogic strategies.
Applications are invited from students of all streams of study, as long as they have cleared Class XII with a minimum percentage of 50%. It is a system based on merit and equality with utilisation of a systemic online personal interface in order to assess communication skills and international academic readiness.
The program has been received enthusiastically by students as well as teachers. SCMS Pune's Director, Dr. Adya Sharma, called the program a response to the increasing need for borderless, globalized learning. She stressed providing students with the capabilities of the modern workplace, and more importantly, of the role of leaders in today's complex, interdependent world.
This initiative is a milestone in Symbiosis's global outreach and reflects the evolving face of higher education, wherein international collaborations are central to shaping student success.
