A Push for Breakthrough Approaches in Education

During the meeting, Prime Minister Chinh emphasised the need for new and transformative approaches in education and training. He underlined that Vietnam US education cooperation should focus on emerging sectors, equipping the workforce with skills suited for a rapidly evolving global economy.

The Prime Minister also acknowledged the valuable contributions made by Eisenhower Fellowships over the years. The organisation has played a significant role in fostering leadership development and strengthening educational ties between the two nations through prestigious scholarship programmes.

Expanding Opportunities Through Scholarships and Exchanges

A key focus of the discussion was the expansion of scholarship opportunities for Vietnamese candidates. Prime Minister Chinh encouraged Eisenhower Fellowships to increase the number of participants from Vietnam and promote stronger academic exchanges.

Enhancing Vietnam US education cooperation will involve deeper collaboration among universities, research institutes and expert networks. The Prime Minister also proposed organising more training programmes and academic events within Vietnam, allowing for broader participation and knowledge sharing.

New Platforms for Regional Dialogue

The delegation, during their three-day visit, also had productive meetings and managed to organise the Asia Rising conference in Ho Chi Minh City. The event has given an opportunity to discuss the trends in the development of Vietnam and Southeast Asia and to find new directions on cooperation.

The participants reiterated their commitment to intensifying further the Vietnam US education, especially in the areas that have been recognized by Prime Minister Chinh. These are, emerging technologies, policy development, and capacity building.
