Key Highlights :
Worldwide research interest in the MENA area increased 90% in June 2025 with 59% of all searches in the UAE.
India remains the largest source market, and Singapore, France, the US, and Germany saw the greatest growth.
Key Background :
Increasing Demand Throughout MENA
Keystone Education Group statistics report a record 90% surge in global student interest in the MENA region in June 2025. The UAE emerged as the conclusive leader, dominating regional destination queries with 59%, and is now the education hub of choice in the region.
Global Diverse Appeal
This surge is a reflection of widespread world demand. South Asia contributes the highest, with India and Pakistan as the leaders. Demand from Southeast Asia, East Asia, Europe, and North America too is on the rise. India is the biggest individual source market with Singapore, France, Germany, and the United States among the fastest-growing contributors.
Cost and Curriculum Advantages
Students cite two main reasons for selecting MENA destinations: access to subjects and lower fees. These advantages position the UAE as a strong competitor against conventional Western destinations, especially with rising costs and stringent visa policies having watered down the appeal of studying in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia.
Dubai as a Strategic Choice
Dubai has certain special strengths, particularly. Its geographical proximity to South Asia makes it readily accessible, with cultural familiarity offering reassurance to families. Factors like safety, medical facilities, and diversity cement its status. Education specialists identify these as highly attractive for Indian families who want to go for undergraduate courses abroad.
Industry Alignment and Employability
UAE universities increasingly concentrate on program alignment to respond to the country's economic agenda in areas like artificial intelligence, logistics, sustainability, and fintech. Such industry alignment provides graduates significant employability advantages. The students can get access to internships, live projects, and employer networks, which prepare them for competitive global careers even before graduation.
Government Action on Admissions
To provide room for the growing number of applicants, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has made the admissions process faster. For the Fall intake 2025-2026, the applicants will have to make their choices by August 11, 2025. The required documentation has been reduced by 86%, cutting down on processing time across 59 accredited institutions and making the system more flexible to international demand.
