The WISE 12 Summit, which just ended, brought a lot of attention to the need to keep education focused on people as AI changes learning systems around the world. The summit brought together leaders, policymakers, educators, and innovators to stress how important it is to find a balance between making technology better and helping students grow emotionally, socially, and cognitively with Human-Centered Education.
As worries about the quick use of AI in classrooms grew, speakers stressed that
while smart tools can make things more efficient and accessible, they should
never take the place of teachers, creativity, or human connection. The sessions
were about how to use AI in education in an ethical way, what the future of
teaching will look like, how to keep students healthy in tech-enabled
environments, and how the need for uniquely human skills and human-centered education is growing in an
automated world.
A lot of the talks were about the growing digital divide. Experts warned that
faster adoption of AI could make global educational inequality worse,
especially in areas with weak digital infrastructure. The summit called for
cross-border cooperation to make sure that innovation helps, not hurts, equity
and inclusion.
During the event, participants shared research, case studies, and successful
projects that showed how human-centered education and technology can make personalized learning better and
lead to better results when used responsibly. By ending with a shared promise
to put students and teachers at the center of technological progress, WISE 12
strengthened its position as a leading platform for imagining an educational
future where innovation and humanity move forward together.
